Fenerbahce sell upside-down Moussa Sow shirts following overhead kicks against Manchester United and Rizespor

Fenerbahce reacted to the social media storm surrounding Moussa Sow’s latest overhead goal by releasing a club shirt with the the Senegal international’s name and number printed upside down.

The Yellow Canaries unveiled an upside down version of the club jersey following a string of overhead kick goals by the striker, including one against Manchester United last month.

Sow went onto score yet another overhead kick last Sunday night against Rizespor. Fenerbahce ended up winning the game 5-1 while Sow bagged a hat-trick in the first half.

Former Chelsea striker and fellow Senegal international Demba Ba shared a picture of Sow upside down. Meanwhile fans started writing Sow’s name the wrong way up and sharing upside down pictures in response to the goal.

The over-head kick goal sparked a social media storm and Fenerbahce spotted a marketing opportunity. The Yellow Canaries reacted quickly to get the shirts off to the printer in time to go on sale first thing the next morning.

The shirts are now on sale in the official club Fenerium stores and have been flying off the shelves due to high demand.

The club have revealed that they will continue to sell the shirts for the foreseeable future as long as demand remains high.

Fenerbahce fans will be hoping their star striker can repeat his feat this weekend when the Yellow Canaries take on Besiktas.

The 30-year-old striker has a prolific record against the Black Eagles having scored eight times in his last seven derby games – including an overhead kick back in 2012. Sow has actually scored an overhead kick against both Besiktas and arch-rivals Galatasaray over the course of his Fenerbahce career.

Fenerbahce are currently third in the Super Lig, four points behind second placed Besiktas.
