Fenerbahce target Grêmio’s Bolivia international striker Moreno


Fenerbahce have been linked with a move for Gremio’s striker Marcelo Martins Moreno.


The Turkish newspaper Takvim has stated that the Istanbul Giants are preparing to launch a loan bid for the 27-year-old with the option to buy.

However, Fenerbhace would have too offload one of their foreign players if they sign the Bolivian international due to the foreign player rules in place this season.

Moreno is contracted to Gremio but has spent the past two seasons on loan at Flamengo and Cruzeiro. The powerful striker has previously also played for Wigan, Werder Bremen, Shakhtar Donetsk and Vitoria.

The 27-year-old striker has scored ten goals in 48 international appearances for Bolivia.

Moreno scored 15 goals in 36 appearances for Cruzeiro last season.

Fenerbahce currently sit at the top of the Turkish Super League with 39 points in 17 games and have scored a total of 28 goals.
