Fenerbahce team news: Star player returns ahead of Man Utd clash

Fenerbahce take on Manchester United in the Europa League hoping to make up for their 4-1 defeat against the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

The Yellow Canaries suffered a crushing defeat against United dropping into third place in Group A in the process.

The Istanbul giants managed to return to winning ways with a convincing 5-0 victory over Karabukspor on Sunday and will head into the United clash in high spirits following the return of a few key players.

On-loan Sunderland striker Jeremain Lens returned over the weekend and found the back of the net taking his season tally to one goal and five assists in five league games for Fenerbahce.

Lens is expected to feature against the Red Devils at the Sukru Saracoglu stadium.

In other Fenerbahce team news, Brazilian striker Fernandao and full-back Gregory van der Wiel have returned to team training and could return to the squad for the Thursday game.

Robin van Persie also started over the weekend scoring a brace and has now been directly involved in 13 goals in his last 12 games – nine goals and four assists.
