Fenerbahce tell Turkish newspaper to go and sign Chelsea striker Falcao following rumours

There are still a few months until the winter transfer window but that has not stopped the Turkish press cranking up the gears in anticipation.

The latest rumour to the rounds was Fenerbahçe plotting a move for Chelsea striker Falcao but what was even more brilliant than the rumour was the response from the club.

Fenerbahçe released the following statement: “According to the Fotomaç newspaper we are going to sign Falcao over the transfer window. Our transfer committee are not actually considering making a move as we are happy with our strikers but considering how keen Fotomaç are to make the transfer happen we give them permission to go ahead and sign him for us.”

Falcao joined Chelsea on loan from Monaco after a disappointing spell at Manchester United last season.

Fotomaç have yet to confirm whether they will go ahead and match his multi million pound valuation but we won’t hold our breath.

Fenerbahçe did of course sign a fellow Premier League striker over the summer in Robin van Persie who joined from Manchester United on a three-year-deal.

The Yellow Canaries also signed former United man Luis Nani and loaned in Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic over the transfer window.
