Fenerbahce to try and persuade Liverpool target Mehmet Topal to stay

Fenerbahce still believe that they can convince Mehmet Topal to stay at the club despite receiving interest from some of Europe’s elite clubs.

EurosportTR have stated that the Yellow Canaries are offering to make Topal vice captain if he signs a bumper five-year-deal.

Topal will be made vice captain even if the current vice captain Emre Belozoglu signs a contract extension.

According to DHA, Liverpool and Everton are preparing a move for the 29-year-old while Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea are also reported to be interested.
The defensive midfielder nicknamed ‘spiderman’ has just a year remaining on his contract with the Istanbul giants and is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal.
Topal provided four assists and four goals in 41 appearances for Fenerbahce in all competitions this season.
Fenerbahçe finished the league season as runners up and booked a place in the Champions League play-off stages.
