Former £26m Tottenham striker nets hat-trick – second former Spurs player to do so

Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen was included in Fenerbahce’s starting lineup for their clash with Sivasspor on Sunday.

The Netherlands international joined the Yellow Canaries on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day over the summer.

Janssen failed to find the back of the net over the weekend has scored just two goals since his move.

However, it was former Tottenham star Roberto Soldado who was the star of the show.

The Spanish striker came on in the 61st minute of the second half to score a hat-trick.

The 32-year-old had failed to score in his opening 10 games for Fenerbahce following his summer move from Villarreal.

Soldado is the second former Tottenham striker to net a hat-trick this weekend. Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor scored three for Basaksehir during their 5-1 win over Galatasaray on Saturday.

Tottenham could have done with some of that fire power this weekend. The north London-based club suffered a  2-0 defeat to their rivals Arsenal.

Soldado made the move to Tottenham from Valencia for an eye watering £26 million back in 2013 (BBC).
