Former Fenerbahce defender set to sign for Hacken

The former Fenerbahce centre back Diego Lugano is set to sign with the Swedish side Hacken.

According to LigTV, the 34-year-old Lugano will meet with Hacken this week and is expected to sign a deal which will keep him at the Allsvenskan club until July.

Lugano’s agent Juan Figer confirmed the news to local reporters.

The experienced defender has previously played for Nacional, Sao Paulo, Fenerbahce, Paris Saint-Germain, Malaga and West Bromwich Albion.

Lugano spent a total of five years at Fenerbahce after joining from Sao Paulo for €8 million back in August 2006.

The Uruguay international went on to make 158 appearances for the Yellow Canaries.

Lugano has international 95 caps for the Uruguay national team.
