Didi Hamann: Emre Can’s performances are ‘one of the reasons why the team has climbed the table’
The former German national team and Liverpool player Dietmar Hamann believes Emre Can’s versatility has been a key factor in the 21-year-old impressive first season in the Premier League.
Hamann also went onto state that Can has been the driving force behind Liverpool’s rise up the table.
Can was signed as a midfielder from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer but the Red’s boss Brendan Rodgers has opted to play him on the right side of a three man defence at Liverpool this season.
”When I watched Emre Can play for Bayer Leverkusen last season, one of his stand-out qualities was the ability to perform a number of different roles,” Dietmar Hamann told Liverpool FC.
”That versatility has been demonstrated again here at Liverpool. And not only has he done different jobs for the team, he’s done each task very well.
“I would go as far as saying his performances have been one of the reasons why the team has climbed the table.”
Liverpool are currently 5th in the Premier League, five points behind fourth placed Manchester United.
