Former QPR & Blackburn Rovers defender joins Turkish club

Chris Samba has arrived in Turkey and underwent a medical today with Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor.

The Congo international is expected to join the Black Sea Storm on a one-year loan worth €2.5 million with a future buyout clause according to the Fanatik newspaper.

Samba arrived in the city of Trabzon at midday and was greeted by a large crowd as well as reporters from the local press.

The experienced defender told reporters: “I am happy to be here, we want to achieve great things.”

Trabzonspor general manager Serhat Altıncı met Samba at the airport and took the defender on a tour of the Mehmet Ali Yılmaz training grounds.

Samba is expected to complete his transfer to Trabzonspor from Dynamo Moscow later this evening.

Trabzonspor also confirmed being in negotiations with the defender on their official website and on the stock exchange.

Samba has previously years of Premier League experience behind him having played for both Blackburn and QPR in the past.
