Former Tottenham striker & Aston Villa taget Adebayor holding out for £2.2 million deal

The former Tottenham Hotpsurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor has stalled on accepting Galatasaray’s offer of £1.8 million as he holds out for a £2.2 million per season deal according to the Arca news agency.

The report states that the experienced striker is holding out of an offer in the region of £2.2 million a season in order to head to Istanbul.

Aston Villa are also in the race to sign Adebayor according to Tuttomercato.

Adebayor contract with Tottenham was terminated last month. The Togo international had been deemed has surplus to requirement by Spur’s boss Mauricio Pochettino – but failed to negotiate a move away from the club dover the summer.

As the 31-year-old striker was still registered as a Spurs player when the summer transfer window closed, he cannot join another Premier League team until the new year meaning Villa would have to wait until January to sign him.

Galatasaray on the other-hand can sign Adebayor to immediate effect but will only be able to register him in January.
