Fortuna Düsseldorf appoint Turkish manager [divider]

Turkish manager Taşkın Aksoy has replaced Oliver Reck as manager of Bundesliga II side Fortuna Dusseldorf the site revealed on their official website.

Aksoy was born in West Berlin and played much of his playing career in Turkey and Germany.

The 47-year-old earned his UEFA Pro Licence in 2007 took charge of Berliner AK 07 in the NOFV-Oberliga.

Aksoy later enjoyed stints at Türkiyemspor before joining Dusseldorf in 2012-13 and later became the U-23 team coach.

Tayfun Korkut became the first Turkish international to take over a Bundesliga club when he was appointed Hannover manager last season.

It is the first senior coaching job for the former Fenerbahçe midfielder who previously worked as a youth team coach at Real Sociedad, Hoffenheim and VfB Stuttgart.

Korkut has done a stellar job since taking over at Hannover, few expected the Bundesliga outfit to do well this season in fact they were considered prime relegation candidates.
