Freiburg sign Man City target for €2.5m

Freiburg have completed the signing of Altinordu defender Caglay Soyuncu on a €2.5 million deal according to AMK.

City were also reported to be keeping tabs Soyuncu a source close to the player told Turkish-Football.com.

Bayer Leverkusen and Koln recently sent scouts to keep tabs on the Turkish international star but Freiburg ended up clinching the deal with the promise of first team football.

The 19-year-old joined Altınordu aged 10 and spent a brief period as a forward before establishing himself as a defender for the first-team.

The young defender has already established himself in the Turkish national team and could end up being selected for the European Championship squad heading over to France this summer.

Soyuncu is one of the hottest prospects in the current Altınordu setup. The PTT 1. Lig outfit have introduced a policy of only playing club grown footballers.

The defender has a total of two goals in 30 appearances for Altınordu in all competitions this season.
