Galatasaray held talks with Toronto FC forward Giovinco twice when he was a Juventus player in the summer according to football agent D’amico.

“We held talks with Galatasaray twice ini Istanbul, Cesare Prandelli really wanted the transfer to go ahead but they failed to meet Juventus’ valuation and the deal fell through,” D’amico was quoted as saying by Şampiy10.

Giovinco joined MLS side Toronto FC instead on a free transfer in February.

The 28-year-old has four years left on his contract and has one assist in 3 appearances for the MLS side.

Cesare Prandelli was interested in bringing over Serie A based players during his time in charge.

The former Italian national team manager brought over Goran Pandev and Blerim Dzemaili from Napoli.

Prandelli was forced to resign from Galatasaray in November after a poor Champions League run.

Galatasaray are now coached by former Akhisar manager Hamza Hamzaoğlu.

The Lions are currently first in the Süper Lig and take on Karabükspor next.
