Galatasaray board member Abdurrahim Albayrak has dismissed reports linking Wesley Sneijder with a move away from the club in January.

Albayrak spoke with the Turkish TV channel NTV Spor about the transfer speculation surrounding Galatasaray.

“We will not sell Sneijder. He has a €20 million clause in his contract. We will not sell him for anything under this figure,” Albayrak stated.

“The reports which state that Sneijder is close to a move to Italy are lies. He is our player and is happy in Turkey. He will be in our squad for the second half of the season.”

Sneijder has been closely linked with a return to the Serie A and with Manchester United.

Sneijder joined Galatasaray from Inter in 2013 for €8 million and still has just under two-years left on his contract.

The Netherlands international has four goals and one assist in all competitions this season.
