Galatasaray are leading the chase to sign Newcastle United’s striker Papiss Cisse according to reports in the British press.
The newspaper Mirror has reported that Papiss Cisse could be the first big-name departure from Newcastle in January.
The report goes onto say that Galatasaray who are looking for a big-name signing are interested in the Senegalese international whose contract ends in 2017.
Cisse joined the Magpies for £9m in 2012 from the Bundesliga side SC Freiburg.
There has also been interest from several Premier League clubs including Manchester City, Tottenham and Swansea.
The 29-year-old striker has been in red-hot form this season after scoring nine goals in 13 games.
