Galatasaray are preparing an offer for Atletico Mineiro right-back Marcos Rocha according to Fanatik.
The Lions are reported to be using goalkeeping coach and Brazilian football legend Claudio Taffarel as an intermediary to hold talks with the promising right-back.
The Istanbul giants have made strengthening at right-back a priority over the summer transfer window after Tarık Çamdal failed to settle in last season.
Galatasaray already have two Brazilian players – Felipe Melo and Alex Telles – but could face stiff competition from Manchester United for Rocha.
The Premier League giants are targeting the 26-year-old fullback after missing out on signing Dani Alves according to the Express.
The 26-year-old has however, only made two appearances for the Brazilian national team and could struggle to get a work permit for football in England.
Galatasaray won the league title for the 20th time last season and became the first Turkish side to earn the right to wear the fourth star.
The Lions also won the Turkish Cup for the 16th time recording their sixth double.
