Galatasaray have made an enquiry for Benfica fullback Maxi Pereira according to Italian football journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
Palmeri tweeted: “Galatasaray have contacted Benfica’s Maxi Pereira.”
Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik also published a similar story recently regarding Galatasaray interest in Pereira.
Galatasaray have made no secret of the fact they want to bring in a fullback over the summer transfer window.
The Lions are reported to have contacted Pereira through goalkeeper Fernando Muslera who also happens to be his Uruguayan international teammate.
Former Arsenal full-back Emmanuel Eboue will be leaving in the summer which will free up funds for wages and Tarık Çamdal has failed to settle in.
The Lions other fullback Veysel Sarı was sold to Kasımpaşa in the winter.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also reported to be interested in the 30-year-old fullback according to the Express.
Pereira has three goals and nine assists for Benfica in all competitions this season.
