Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has ruled out any possibility of Fernando Muslera leaving the club over January.

Özbek told DHA in a recent interview: “We will not be selling our best players and definitely not Muslera or Sneijder.”

The Lions could however, be forced to consider offers for the Uruguayan international to try and meet Financial FairPlay regulations.

The Istanbul giants are currently facing the prospect of a two year European competition ban due to failing to meet FFP targets over the past three years.

Muslera is reported to be on Liverpool’s shortlist according to the Express (via Kralspor) but the Telegraph claim Galatasaray want £35 million for the experienced keeper.

The Uruguayan star played a key role in Galatasaray winning the league for a record 20th time last season and earning the right to wear a fourth star – Galatasaray also won the double for a record sixth time.

The 29-year-old has won three league titles at the Lions and also the Copa America with Uruguay.

The experienced keeper has been one of the Istanbul giants most influential players over the past few seasons and still has another two-years left on his contract but Galatasaray could be tempted to part ways with Muslera to reduce the bill.
