Galatasaray target QPR midfielder Sandro

Galatasaray have been linked with a move for the Queens Park Rangers midfielder Sandro according to the Independent.

The daily newspaper state that Sandro is likely to leave the United Kingdom this summer due to a visa problem which could see him banned from returning for up to 12 months.

QPR are keen to offload Sandro after being relegated to the Championship. The Brazilian international has two years left on a £50,000-per-week contract.

The report goes onto state that ‘Turkish champions Galatasaray have shown the strongest interest’.

However Galatasaray are unlikely to be willing to pay a transfer fee over €4 million and may opt to loan the player with an option to buy instead.

Sandro joined QPR from Tottenham for €10 million last summer. The 26-year-old scored one goal in 18 appearances for QPR this season.

Galatasaray are planing to bolster their attacking options ahead of the next league campaign and the UEFA Champions League group stages.

The Istanbul Giants booked a place in the UEFA Champions League group stages after winning the league for a record 20th time last season.
