Galatasaray want 5 goal Tottenham outcast on end of season transfer

Galatasaray have rekindled interest in Tottenham outcast Vincent Janssen according to the Fanatik newspaper.

Per the source, the Lions are plotting an end of season move and feel they will be in a stronger position to land the striker than their failed attempt in January.

Janssen’s agent Louis Laros told Turkish-Football back in January that the striker wanted to stay at Tottenham until at least the end of the season.

“Janssen wants to stay at Tottenham until the end of the season and Pochettino has faith in him,” Laros said.

Janssen has struggled for playing time this season and has just five goals in all competitions.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino did veto Janssen leaving over the winter transfer window but it remains to be seen if he will do the same at the end the season.

Pochettino felt Janssen would improve his form but the Dutch striker has not scored a Premier League goal in 2017.

Janssen cost Tottenham £17 million (BBC) when he was signed from AZ Alkmaar last season.

The 22-year-old joined the North London side as a prolific scorer having scored 27 league goals in the Eredivisie last season.

Galatasaray are planning ahead to replace Lukas Podolski who will join Japanese outfit Kobe at the end of the season.

Janssen would join fellow Dutch players Wesley Sneijder, Nigel de Jong and Garry Rodrigues if he were to make the move.

The striker does however, have another three-years remaining on his contract and Galatasaray could struggle to sign him on a permanent deal unless Tottenham are willing to take a loss.
