Galatasaray captain Selçuk Inan believes that his side can break their winless away run against Fenerbahçe in the Intercontinental derby.

The Lions have not beat Fenerbahçe at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium since 1999 under the management of Fatih Terim.

Galatasaray went onto win the Süper Lig and the UEFA Cup the same season.

“Every derby is special but we have to leave the past behind us and look forward, we can end our bad run at Fenerbahçe,” Inan told Eurosport Tr.

Galatasaray are currently first in the Süper Lig on 51 points after 22 games this season.

Fenerbahçe are third in the league on 47 points and will drop seven points behind the league leaders if they lose the Intercontinental derby.

Inan joined Galatasaray from Trabzonspor on a free transfer in July 2011.

The Galatasaray captain won the Süper Lig title twice with the Lions and also reached the quarter-finals and Last 16 of the Champions League since joining from Trabzonspor.
