Galatasaray’s young centre back Semih Kaya has been ruled out for up to a month due to a knee injury.

The 23-year-old defender sustained the injury during his sides game against Guaratingueta in the International Royal Cup last week.

Kaya was taken to Istanbul to undergo scans where it was revealed he had suffered knee ligament damage to his left knee according to Galatasaray’s official website.

The news comes as a blow to Galatasaray who will also be without Aurélien Chedjou who is representing Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Lions will also be unable to call upon Koray Gunter as the former Dortmund player has sustained an injury to his right hamstring leaving Hakan Balta as the only available senior defender.
