Germany international will arrive in Turkey tomorrow before completing Besiktas transfer

Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez will arrive in Turkey tomorrow ahead of completing his transfer to Beşiktaş according to NTV Spor.

The Black Eagles released a statement on the stock exchange today confirming that talks are ongoing.

Stock exchange press statements are usually just a formality in Turkey before announcing the completion of a move. Listed clubs are legally obliged to first declare talks have been conducted and then release a second statement confirming the financial details of the move.

Gomez will sign a two-year deal with an option to extend by an additional year worth an estimated €5 million per-season.

The Germany international would be replacing Demba Ba who was the Istanbul giants top scorer last season with 27 goals in all competitions for the Black Eagles.

Ba was signed by Chinese giants Shanghai Shenhua for a €14 million fee last season.

The Black Eagles finished last season in third place and booked a place in the Europa League group stages.
