Germany v England: Confirmed lineups – Liverpool star Emre Can benched

Germany take on England at the Signal Iduna Park today for an international friendly as part of Lukas Podolski’s testimonial game.

Joachim Low confirmed before the game that Arsenal star Mesut Ozil will not feature due to his hamstring injury.

Fellow Germany international of Turkish origin Emre Can has been benched.

The Liverpool central midfielder will be available from the substitutes bench.

Barcelona goalkeeper ter Stegen starts for Germany as does Manchester City attacking midfielder Sane.

Galatasaray striker Lukas Podolski will start and captain the Germany national team in his final game representing his nation.

The former Arsenal forward has 15 goals and six assists in all competitions for Galatasaray this season.

Podolski has netted 48 times in 129 appearances for Germany since making his debut in 2004.

England will be without West Ham United winger Michail Antonio and Man United’s Phil Jones due to injury.

Gareth Southgate has included star names in his side including Adam Lallana, Jamie Vardi and Alli.
