The Uruguayan defender also featured in the Atleti side that won the La Liga title last season.

The Rojiblancos could be without Turkish international star Arda Turan due to injury.

The 28-year-old has however, travelled to Germany and has been included in the team squad.

Turan played in the La Liga champions 2-0 win over Almeria on the weekend.
