Bursaspor sets an example for youth development in Turkey according to manager Şenol Güneş.
“Our youth development system sets an example for the rest of Turkey,” Güneş said.
“We have invested heavily in the youth setup and we are only just starting to reap the rewards.
“Hopefully more players like Ozan Tufan start to make it through the ranks into the senior team, Bursaspor will benefit as a result and ultimately Turkey will also benefit.
“The fans have high expectations but long term projects like this do not happen overnight.
“Patience is required, we want to be champions this season and if we continue on this path I am sure we will be involved in the title race.”
Bursaspor have been producing some of Turkey’s most promising players over the past few seasons.
Seventeen-year old Enes Ünal is one of the most highly rated young strikers in Turkey, 18-year-old Batuhan Altıntaş recently joined HSV and 19-year-old Ozan Tufan is already a first-team player and Turkish international.
