Bilic was largely credited with developing Töre from a promising player into one of the most sought after stars in the league.

“I want to keep hold of our star players including Gökhan Töre and Demba Ba,” Güneş told Turkish-football.com reporters at his signing ceremony.

Demba Ba has also been linked with a lucrative move to Qatar but the Black Eagles are keen on keeping hold of the Senegalese international.

Ba scored 28 goals in all competitions last season – a career high. Meanwhile Gökhan Töre also hit a career high nine goals and 11 assists.

Güneş signed a two years deal with Beşiktaş today worth €1.5 million per-season today.

The 63-year-old coach led Turkey to 3rd in the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea. Güneş is one of the most highly rated managers in Turkish football.
