‘He will walk into the Man United team’ – 19-year-old Red Devils target’s former coach makes bold prediction

Cengiz Under has set the league alight this season at surprise title challengers Basaksehir.

The 19-year-old made a seamless transition from second-tier football at Altinordu to breaking into the Super Lig.

The rising star has scored nine times and provided seven assists in all competitions.

Under has even managed to established himself as a first-team regular for the Turkish national team.

The Basaksehir ace has earned himself the nickname the ‘Turkish Dybala’ based on a physical resemblance and similarities in playing style.

The youngster’s former coach at Altinordu Huseyin Eroglu, who was responsible for first spotting and signing him aged 10 has made a few bold predictions.

Eroglu said: “Cengiz has the quality to become a world class star.

“All the talk has been about Emre Mor and do not get me wrong he is really promising but Cengiz is something special because he can use both feet, has pace, intelligence, can beat his marker with ease and is a nightmare to mark.

“He is also physical and has amazing finishing ability which you are starting to all see.

“Do not be surprised to see Cengiz at a big club very soon, he is cut out for the Champions League and will end up walking into a team like Manchester United.”

Turkish-Football recently reported that Manchester United have been among the teams interested in the youngster.

The Hurriyet newspaper meanwhile, have claimed that United are plotting a £6 million move for Under.

A source close to the player also revealed that Atletico Madrid have been keeping tabs on the 19-year-old.

Basaksehir club president Goksel Gumudag added to the transfer speculation after confirming that scouts from Premier League and La Liga sides monitored his latest game against Besiktas.

“There were scouts from Premier League scouts and La Liga teams at the Besiktas derby,” Gumusdag was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“I will reveal the details at the end of the season as I do not want to distract the team.

“We do not want to sell Under but will discuss this once the season is over.”

Under scored a brace against the reigning champions and league leaders, playing a key role in a shock 3-1 victory over the Istanbul giants.
