‘We have held talks’ – Club vice-president confirms negotiations for Tottenham & Man United target nicknamed ‘Turkish Dybala’

Basaksehir vice-president Mustafa Saral has confirmed interest in rising star Cengiz Under.

The Lille, Tottenham and Man United target has enjoyed a meteoric rise from Turkish second-tier football to a brilliant breakthrough season at Super Lig runner-up Basaksehir.

Saral confirmed being in talks with several clubs including Lille.

“Several clubs have been scouting Cengiz,” Saral was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“Lille have held direct talks with us, we have held talks with a few teams that have been mentioned.

“Our response has been the same, it is an honour to receive so much interest but we feel it is in his best interests to spend one more season here and then leave.

“We will see what happens.”

Turkish-Football recently reported that United and Spurs have been keeping tabs on the Turkish international.

Basaksehir signed Under from Altinordu for £600,000 last summer but now value the 19-year-old as being worth £13 million.

Under scored nine times and provided seven assists in all competitions for the Turkish Cup finalists this season.

The youngster has also established himself as a regular call up to the Turkish national team scoring twice in both starts – against Moldova and Kosovo.

Under started for Turkey in the  4-1 victory over Kosovo in the 2017 World Cup qualification Group I clash.
