How Manchester United could line up against Galatasaray tonight

Manchester United’s summer signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to make his debut for the Red Devil’s in tonights pre-season friendly encounter with Galatasaray.

Following the cancellation of the friendly against Man City in China, Jose Mourinho’s side have not played since losing to Dortmund earlier this month.

The Portuguese tactician is expected to field a strong squad with Rooney, Ibrahimovic and Mkhitaryan all expected to start.

Galatasaray and United have a rich history against each other having played six competitive games which all began with a thrilling 3-3 draw at Old Trafford in the 1993 European Cup second round. The Lions slogan ‘Welcome to Hell’ was coined in Istanbul following a goalless draw which knocked United out on the away goals rule.

United boss Jose Mourinho will be familiar with a few Galatasaray players with one name in particular standing out – Wesley Sneijder. Sneijder played under the command of Mourinho while at Inter Milan where the duo lifted the UEFA Champions League and Serie A together.
