Beşiktaş have also bee closely linked with the Egyptian international following a statement released by club president Fikret Orman confirming talks with Chelsea over a mystery player.

“I was in England and held talks with Chelsea but it would be wrong to disclose who the negotiations were regarding,” Orman told Best FM.

“The talks are ongoing, if I was to tell you who the transfer was regarding it could make the move more difficult.”

Salah has made just three Premier League games in all competitions for the Blues this season and has failed to make a Premier League start.

The 22-year-old has struggled to settle in at Stamford Bridge since an £11m move from Basle last year.
