Huddersfield Town defender Zanka arrived in Istanbul this morning ahead of completing his move to Fenerbahce.

Fenerbahce confirmed to Turkish-Football that Zanka is in Turkey to undergo a medical and sort out some final details before officially joining the Istanbul based outfit.

The Yellow Canaries have been locked in talks with Huddersfield over Zanka for weeks and finally made a breakthrough earlier this week.

Zanka was greeted by Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli and board member Selahattin Baki at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport before heading to the club grounds.

The Yellow-Navy Blues have made signing a new defender a priority.

Fenerbahce strengthened in attack, midfield and in goal making several signings this summer including Max Kruse, Emre Belozoglu, Vedat Muriqi, Altay Bayindir, Allahyar Sayyadmanesh as well Garry Rodrigues.

The one area the Canaries hadn’t made new additions to was the defence.

Head coach Ersun Yanal has been forced to play defensive midfielder Jailson as a centre-back over the pre-season.

The Istanbul giants finished last season in 6th place and will not compete in European competition next term.
