Liverpool’s Emre Can has stated that he ‘feels at home’ playing in his preferred midfield position.

The 22-year-old spent the majority of last season playing either on the right hand side of a  three man defence or at right-back under the Red’s previous manager Brendan Rodgers.

However, since the appointment of Jurgen Klopp, Emre Can has been a permanent fixture in Liverpool’s three-man midfield.

“I feel at home in midfield,” Can was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

“That’s my main position. One of my strengths is being able to get the ball, drive forward and take hold of the game. That’s what I enjoy doing.”

Can was deployed in midfield once again for Liverpool’s clash with Manchester United. The Germany International started the game alongside Lucas Leiva and Jordan Henderson.

Liverpool dropped down to ninth place following todays defeat while united moved up into fifth place, two points behind Tottenham.
