Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is on his way back to North London following a trip to Istanbul, Turkey.
Ozil’s latest trip following speculation that he could be set for a future move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
The 28-year-old held talks with Fenerbahce in his latest trip to Istanbul according to Hurriyet sports journalist Ahmet Ercanlar.
Ozil reportedly spent 17 hours in Istanbul over the course of his latest trip to the city where he entered discussions with the Yellow Canaries regarding his future.
Ercanlar – who has close ties to Fenerbahce – claimed that Ozil held talks with Fenerbahce over a potential future move.
“I believe it is very likely that Ozil will wear a Fenerbahce jersey over the next few seasons,” Ercanlar was quoted as saying.
The Gunners play-maker spent the international break on holiday after being given the week off by Germany head coach Germany boss Joachim Low.
Ozil has kept his followers up to date with his latest trip to Istanbul and his most recent photo showed him leaving the city.
Ozil is a Germany international but he is an ethnic Turk and regularly visits Turkey where he is a popular public figure.
