(Image) Barcelona star Arda Turan bites teammate following Turkey Euro 2016 qualification

Turkey beat Iceland 1-0 to qualify directly for the 2016 European Championships in the most dramatic of circumstances.

Just to recap Turkey needed to win while Kazakhstan had to beat Latvia to book a direct place in the tournament.

The game was goalless going into the last minute of the game and to make matters worse Gokhan Tore had reduced Turkey to 10 men.

Galatasaray captain Selcuk Inan ended up scoring the winning goal on 89 minutes to take Turkey through directly.

The emotion was obviously too much for Turan to handle as he collapsed on the floor after the game cutting his head and was pictured biting teammate Hakan Balta’s hand.

A battered and bruised Turan told reporters in his post match press conference that he was proud of his side ‘battling to the end’.
