Besiktas star attacking midfielder Anderson Talisca has been closely linked with a summer exit after an impressive breakthrough season in the Turkish league.

The Black Eagles had the option to extend Talisca’s loan move from Benfica for a second season.

Talisca does however, have a £21 million release clause option and Manchester United were reported to have been plotting a summer move.

Last month Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported that United boss Jose Mourinho has had his scouts keep tabs on Talisca over the course of the season.

Per the source, Mourinho was keen on activating Talisca’s release clause this summer.

Turkish league champions Besiktas have however, managed to convince Talisca to stay on loan for another season.

Besiktas club president Fikret Orman said: “We have officially signed on his extension, his contract will run for another season.”

This was followed by a Turkish Football Federation document showing that his contract with Besiktas has been extended to summer 2018.

Talisca has played a key role for Besiktas as a number 10 this season. The Brazilian attacking midfielder has scored a career high 15 goals and provided six assists this season.

The Istanbul giants will win the league title for a second season running if they avoid defeat against Gaziantepspor over the weekend.
