(Image) Revealed: Hamann’s best Manchester City & Liverpool combined XI only features 3 Reds players
Former Liverpool and Manchester City star Dietmar Hamann has picked his best starting lineup combining players from both sides for Sky Sports.
Hamann’s side has a strong bias towards City with eight of the 11 players from the Manchester based side.
The three Liverpool players that made the grade were team captain Jordan Henderson, Matip and Coutinho.
Germany international of Turkish origin Emre Can did not make the grade despite being a favourite of Hamann.
Fellow Germany international of Turkish origin Ilkay Gundogan who plays for City did not make the team either. The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder will not be available for the clash but Can is likely to start with Henderson expected to miss the game through injury.
The team does not feature a single Germany international, Leroy Sane of City did not make his side either.
Hamann made a total of 300 appearances between the two clubs during his playing career but enjoyed a more successful stint at Liverpool where he won nine honours including the 2005 Champions League.
