In form Arsenal star Mesut Ozil 'in no rush' to sign new contract

Arsenal’s in0form star playmaker Mesut Ozil has stated that he is in ‘no-rush’ to sign a contract extension.

Ozil has however insisted that he is “very happy” at the Emirates.

“There is no rush to sign a new contract,” Ozil told Kicker in an interview published before the Gunners 2-1 victory over Manchester City.

“My current deal runs until 2018. That is still two-and-a-half years. There are no talks at the moment.

“I can only say that I am very happy in London. My decision to leave Real Madrid for Arsenal was the right one.

“There has not been a single day, apart from whenever I was injured, that I did not feel great here.”

The Germany international received a rating of 8.1 from Whoscored for his performance on the night.

Ozil took 59 touches on the ball, made two key passes and maintained a passing accuracy of 89%.

Arsenal are now just two points off league leaders Leicester City. The Gunners take on Southampton in their next league game.
