Istanbul clubs join race for Liverpool striker

Istanbul based club’s have joined Trabzonspor in the race to sign Samed Yesil according to the Trabzon based outlet 61Saat.

The report states that several Istanbul clubs are interested in the 22-year-old however, Trabzonspor are leading the race to sign Yesil on a free transfer.

Trabzonspor boss Ersun Yanal is understood to be keen on signing the Germany U19 international. Turkish-Football.com sources can reveal that the experinced manager recently wanted to replace the out-bound Oscar Cardozo with Yesil.

Yesil will leave the Merseyside club on a free transfer this summer according to the Liverpool Echo. The daily Liverpool based paper state that the 22-year-old is out of contract and has not been offered a new deal by Reds.

The 2016-17 season will be Trabzonspor’s 50th year anniversary and the clubs President is targeting the Turkish Super Lig title.

Yesil has made two assists and has found the back of the four times in 17 appearances for Luzern this season.
