Italian giants to rival Liverpool & Arsenal for defensive target but will have to bid £17.5m to match asking price
Italian giants AC Milan have launched a new bid to sign Fenerbahce defender Simon Kjaer.
Turkish sports newspaper AMK report that the Serie A outfit have offered Fenerbahce £11.4 million [€13m] in additional to 24-year-old defender Gustavo Gomez for Kjaer.
Per the source, AC Milan are determined to sign the 29-year-old but could face competition from Liverpool, Monaco, Lyon and PSG.
Fenerbahce are aware of the interest being shown in Kjaer and have increased their asking price from £13.3 million [€15m] to £17.5 million [€15m].
The Takvim newspaper meanwhile report that the Gunners have made a £10.5 million bid for the Denmark international.
Kjaer does have another two-years remaining on his contract and has settled into life in Istanbul.
The experienced defender has established himself as a star player and is a fan favourite.
Fenerbahce will however, sell Kjaer for the right price as they are under Financial Fair Play (FFP) pressure.
The Yellow Canaries have already made two signings this summer, bringing in Valbuena from Monaco and Nabil Dirar from Lyon.
