Jeremain Lens aims a parting shot at Sunderland ahead of Fenerbahce move

Jeremain Lens has claimed that Sunderland wanted to get rid of him ahead of his move to Fenerbahce.

The 28-year-old is set to complete his move from Black Cats to Fenerbahce after landing in Istanbul today.

“Sunderland would just love to get rid of me,” Lens was quoted as saying by SkySports.

“I did not play, was not even on the bench. I just had a problem with the club. What? No idea.”

Lens touched down at the Atatürk airport and is expected to put pen-to-paper on a deal with the Istanbul giants tonight.

Turkish-Football sources can reveal that Lens is set to undergo a medical in Istanbul and if successful, will join the Istanbul giants on a season-long loan deal.

Lens made the move to Sunderland just 12 months ago for £8m transfer according to SkySports. However, the 28-year-old made just 14 Premier League starts for the Black Cats.

Fenerbahce take on Bursaspor in their next Turkish Super League fixture on September 11.
