“Jose is an enormous admirer” – Ray Wilkins makes astonishing Mesut Ozil claim regarding Man United transfer, also tips Chelsea star to make Old Trafford move

Former Chelsea assistant manager Ray Wilkins has come out with some astonishing claims regarding Mesut Ozil’s proposed move to Manchester United.

According to the ex-England international, Ozil won’t go to Manchester United because he believes the 29-year-old wouldn’t be able to play under a demanding Jose Mourinho.

The comments will come as a shock to most football fans who very well know that Ozil played some of his best football under Jose Mourinho during the duo’s spell at Real Madrid. The pair won the La Liga title during their time in Spain.

“Mesut Ozil won’t go to Old Trafford because he doesn’t have the work ethic that Mourinho looks for in his players,” Wilkins told sportingbet.

“I actually see Willian as being the likely player to head to Old Trafford. Jose is an enormous admirer of Willian and he would be a special signing for United, but I pray that Chelsea don’t let him go.”

Ozil made the move to Arsenal from Real Madrid for £42.5m back in the 2013 summer transfer window. The German international has won three FA Cup titles since making the move to the north London-based club.

Man United suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of their rivals Man City while Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw by Southampton on Sunday.
