Jurgen Klopp rests star player as Liverpool lose 2-0 to Burnley

Liverpool suffered a 2-0 defeat against Burnley at Turd Moor in what was their second Premier League game of the season.

The newly promoted side took an early lead when Vokes scored in the second minute and Gray doubled the lead on 37 minutes.

Emre Can was not given a spot in the starting line-up despite being selected on the bench.

Can enjoyed an extended break after Euro 2016 and took time out in Turkey meeting friends and relatives as well as the US and was not 100 percent match fit going into the game as a result.

The 22-year-old midfielder is expected to be fit for next weeks league game against Tottenham.
