Juventus' bid for Liverpool target Gundogan rejected

Man city team news Ilkay Gundogan

Borussia Dortmund have rejected a bid form Juventus for Ilkay Gündoğan according to Calcio Mercatto.

The report states that Dortmund are unwilling to let the Germany international leave during the January transfer window.

Calcio Mercatto state that Juve may turn their attention towards Chelsea’s Oscar following the latest developments.

Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc recently admitted that they’re yet to open new contract talks with Gündoğan

“Ilkay is one of our key players. We’ll talk with him in due time on the future, but we still have a little time,” Zorc told Bild (via Bola)

“If it was up to me, I would always insist only on long-term contracts. But then, Ilkay Gündogan would possibly for years no longer play here.”

The 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool since the appointment of Jugen Klopp.

Gündoğan has hinted at a move to Liverpool during a recent interview with the German tabloid newspaper Bild. “They have a good team, a great coach,” Gündoğan stated.

Dortmund sit in second place in the Bundesliga with 38 points in 16 games.
