Antalyaspor president Gültekin Gencer has revealed that Juventus legend Andrea Pirlo wants to play for the Turkish Super League outfit.

The Scorpions boss underlined that Pirlo has been in talks with the club and that negotiations were successful.

Gencer told IHA: “We’ve had talks with Pirlo and his agent. He is willing to play for Antalyaspor.”

Antalyaspor will try to loan Pirlo during the MLS off-season and the former Juve man is reported to be keen on the idea in an attempt to boost his likelihood of getting selected for the Italy squad ahead of Euro 2016.

Pirlo joined MLS giants New York City over the transfer window and still has another year remaining on his contract.

The World Cup winner would be joining former Barcelona star Samuel Eto’o at Antalyaspor should he join the Mediterranean based side.

Eto’o already has nine goals in 11 league games making him the top scorer in the league this season.

Antalyaspor were only promoted last season but have had an ambitious transfer policy bringing in Eto’o and targeting Manchester United keeper Victor Valdez.
