Kavlak admits he was ‘speechless’ following Liverpool win [divider]
Beşiktaş midfielder Veli Kavlak revealed that he could not believe his side had knocked out Liverpool from the Europa League.
The Black Eagles beat the Reds 5-4 on penalties in the Round of 32 to secure a place in the next stage of the competition.
“We are so happy, I am speechless,” Kavlak told the official UEFA website.
“It is a very beautiful night for the club. This happiness we feel is indescribable.”

Kavlak underlined that manager Slaven Bilic took some of the pressure off ahead of the penalty shoot outs when he told the players he was proud of their performance whatever the outcome.
“Before the shoot-out, coach [Slaven Bilić] came to us and said he was proud of us – that we had dominated 120 minutes of play and that we had nothing to lose,” he added.
Beşiktaş scored all their penalties as did Liverpool before Dejan Lovren sent his spot kick flying over the bar.
The Black Eagles will take on Belgium side Club Brugge in the next round of the Europa League.
Beşiktaş are currently second in the Süper Lig and will take on last placed Balıkesirspor next.
