Kuyt names 7 ex Liverpool players & Wesley Sneijder in his ultimate career XI

Dirk Kuyt has named his ultimate career starting XI to Dutch network RTL XL and as expected it is dominated by former Liverpool players but there are also two Turkish Super League stars in the mix.

The Netherlands international chose Pepe Reina in goal. The Spanish keeper spent nine seasons at Liverpool before moving to Napoli and then to Bayern Munich.

Kuyt opted for Fenerbahçe star Gökhan Gönül at right-back current Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel and Reds legend Jamie Carragher at centre-back while former Netherlands national teammate Giovanni van Bronckhorst finds himself as left-back.

Galatasaray star and former Dutch national teammate Wesley Sneijder features in Kuyt’s central midfield alongside ex Reds deep lying playmaker Xabi Alonso and legendary captain Steven Gerrard.

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben stars as Kuyt’s right-forward, Barcelona (ex Red) Luis Suarez features on the left while Fernandao Torres starts up front.

The former Netherlands international joined Liverpool from Feyenoord in 2006 and scored 71 goals in 285 matches for the Reds.

The 34-year-old played in the the 2006-07 Champions League final, was runner up in the 2008-09 Premier League title race and won the 2011-12 League Cup with Liverpool.
