La Liga champions turn down €50m Chinese bid for Chelsea target

Barcelona Arda Turan

Barcelona have turned down a €50 million bid from China according to Hurriyet football editor-in-chief Mehmet Arslan.

Per the source, the La Liga champions have turned down eight bids for Turan including a €50 million offer from China.

The report also claims that Barca have also turned down offers from Premier League sides.

The 29-year-old winger has been closely linked with a move away from Barcelona over the past few weeks following reports from Spain that the club will listen to offers for Turan.

The Sun reported that Chelsea and Arsenal are among the clubs interested and that Barca would be willing to accept £20 million.

Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez did however, deny claims that Turan will be sold over the summer.

Speaking at Andre Gomes’ signing ceremony Fernandez told reporters: “The situation with Arda Turan has not changed.

“After a difficult year with all the FIFA trouble, we are hoping for the Arda of Atletico next season.”

Turan’s agent Ahmet Bulut also released a statement regarding his clients future underlining that the experienced midfielder is happy at Barca.

“The interest is normal but the rumours saying he is leaving Barcelona are false, he is happy at the club,” Turan’s agent, Ahmet Bulut told Turkish-football.com [via Emre Sarigul who spoke to the Guardian].

Turan has another four-years left on his contract and Barca head coach has used the Turkish international over the per-season.

The bearded midfielder scored an impressive goal against Celtic in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
