La Liga giants to challenge Man Utd & Liverpool for Gundogan signature

La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid will fight it out with Premier League clubs to secure the signature of Ilkay Gundogan according to the The Manchester Evening News.

Barcelona had scouts present during Dortmund’s clash with Bayern Munich in order to monitor Ilkay Gundogan.

The Premier League duo Manchester United and Liverpool are keen to sign Gundogan according to the MetroHowever, the Daily Mail claim that Gundogan is keen on the idea of playing under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City next season.

Gundogan came close to leaving the Bundesliga giants last summer but instead signed a one-year extension. The latest reports from Germany suggest that Gundogan has recently turned down a contract offer from Dortmund.

The Germany international has six assists and three goals in 32 appearances for Dortmund this season. Gundogan career began at Nuremberg before moving to Dortmund for £4m in 2011.
