Leicester City midfielder linked with Galatasaray loan move

Leicester City midfielder Gökhan İnler has struggled for playing time this season making just two Premier League starts since joining from Napoli.

Galatasaray have been keeping close tabs in the experienced midfielder and are preparing a loan bid for the Switzerland international of Turkish origin according to Eurosport.

The Lions are still in pursuit of a defensive midfielder after selling Felipe Melo to Inter on the summer transfer window deadline and failing to replace him.

The Switzerland international may struggle to make the squad ahead of the European Championships next summer should he fail to make to play regular football over the second half of the season.

Aston Villa manager Remy Garde recently stated that he has been keeping close tabs on the situation and revealed that Inler is on his shortlist.

Garde was quoted by Sky Sports as saying: “I’m aware of this (Inler’s) situation because I’ve looked at all the players who could be interested in this situation because of the Euros. I don’t want to say to you where he is on my list.

“Of course, every player who will play Euros I am interested in because they are good players. It doesn’t mean they will come or that I have already called them. But I know him very well.”

İnler joined Napoli on a €7 million move over the summer transfer window and still has another three-years left on his current deal.
